Vigil to honor the lives of people we have lost

I wanted to invite you to an event that Beacon Prison Action is organizing with RAPP (Release Aging People from Prison) and PPP (Parole Preparation Project). 

I hope you will join us for a vigil to honor the lives of people we have lost. We will also continue to call on Governor Cuomo to release people to prevent more deaths. We will not be entering DOCCS property, holding the vigil outside the cemetery gates, and I have advised people to meet at the north end of the Beacon High School parking lot to begin the procession and for the walk to the cemetery. 

Schedule:

Thursday, May 7th

2pm: Gather in cars and on foot across from Fishkill Correctional Facility at 271 Matteawan Road, Beacon, NY.

2:15-2:45pm: Car procession 

3pm: Press Conference outside Fishkill Cemetery

3-6pm: Vigil and Graveside Sit

Friday, April 8

9am-6pm: Vigil and Graveside Sit

  You can Sign up for a two-hour vigil slot here (so that we can limit numbers and maintain social distancing). Or Register to virtually attend the press conference at 3pm Thursday. Feel free to broadcast in any way you see fit.
